Standard body shape guides use Western sizing and Western outfit references. This calculator is built around South Asian body proportions — and it recommends saree drapes, lehenga silhouettes, and salwar cuts, not jeans and blazers.
Enter three measurements — bust, waist, and hips. Get your body shape category, the traditional Indian silhouettes that suit your proportions, and the specific saree draping styles that work best for your frame.
Measure at the fullest point of each area. cm or inches — your choice.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Wear a well-fitted bra you would normally wear.
Keep the tape snug but not tight — you should be able to slip two fingers under it.
Measure around your natural waist — the narrowest part of your torso, typically an inch above your navel. Do not suck in.
Bend to one side: the crease that forms is your natural waist.
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, typically 7 to 9 inches below your natural waist.
Stand with feet together for an accurate hip measurement.
